What's Inside: Kids can join outlet mall's adventure club, Come to the carnival!

Principal Kimberly Miles said the organization was having difficulty attracting parents to be officers of the PTO. Events normally organized by the PTO will continue at the school, but will be organized by others.

"We have some amazing parents at East," said Miles. Parents will continue to support the school through fund-raising efforts as individual parents.

Come to the carnival!

Centennial High School will hold an old-fashioned carnival to raise money for its Food for Families nonprofit food pantry.

The fun will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, in the student commons of the high school at 3505 S.E. 182nd Ave.

The school's Future Business Leaders of America organized "Eagle Fun Fest" carnival and founded Food for Families.

Activities include a variety of old-fashioned carnival games, family-friendly activities and a raffle.

Carnival game tickets cost three for $1 or 20 for $5 and raffle tickets $1 each or six for $5.

Participants are asked to bring their own bags for goodies. Donations of hygiene products can be exchanged for raffle tickets.

Kids can join outlet mall's adventure club

The Columbia Gorge Outlets shopping center holds a free Adventure Club for kids the first Tuesday of every month.

Club members will meet book and super heroes, play dress up, have a snack and do fun activities. Nov. 7 will be a clown workshop and Dec. 5 club members will get pictures and cookies with Santa Claus.Register at bit.ly/2fHg0W1.

Teens can register as makerspace volunteers

The Rockwood Library makerspace is kicking off a new school year and signing up volunteers for its makerspace from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday Oct. 14.

Students in grades 9-12, both new and returning makerspace volunteers, need to register for the kickoff event and training. The library is at 17917 S.E. Stark St. Call 503-988-5123 for more information.
