Man found dead after crash, shooting
One person was found killed Tuesday night, Nov. 28, after Portland Police Bureau East Precinct officers responded to reports of a shooting and car crash north of Southeast Stark Street on Southeast 157th Avenue.
Officers arrived at 11:03 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire. They found a white SUV that had been involved in a crash, with an injured man inside. Emergency medical responders arrived and determined the adult occupant of the SUV was dead, police said.
Additional officers searched the neighborhood with K9 teams, but no suspects were located. Police said there is no immediate danger to the public.
Detectives with the Portland police's Homicide Detail unit are leading the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division and members of the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office also are assisting.
Southeast Stark Street will remain closed between Southeast 155th and 160th avenues as the investigation continues.
