Historic Highway closed by high winds
The Oregon Department of Transportation has closed the East Historic Columbia River Highway from Larch Mountain Road to Bridal Veil because of high winds and the potential of falling trees.
The east wind has already caused trees to fall along Corbett Hill Road, according to a press release sent at 2 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11.
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, along with Corbett Fire, also responded to East Knieriem Road on a report of a tree that fell into a house. A 65-year-old woman was injured when a branch impaled her. She was being treated at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center for an injury to her lower torso.
