Gresham men face attempted murder charge
Police say two men have been arrested for attempted murder after a person was assaulted just after midnight on Tuesday, Feb. 2 in Fairview.
Gresham resident Cristian Jesus Alvarez-Ochoa, 23, is facing charges of attempted murder and violation of a restraining order.
Rigoberto Martinez-Alcocer, also 23 and of Gresham, is facing charges of attempted murder, first-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
Multnomah County Sheriff's deputies responded to Fairview Oaks Apartments, 22701 N.E. Halsey Street, around 12:21 a.m. following a 9-1-1 call.
The caller reported that two men had fled the scene on foot, one reportedly armed with a handgun. Police tracked the men to a flat in the adjacent complex, Fairview Woods Apartments located at 22701 N.E. Halsey Street.
In May, 2017, Alvarez-Ochoa was charged with stalking, menacing, first-degree burglary and disorderly conduct after an ex-girlfriend told police he had broken into her apartment and sent her text messages threatening to murder her. All charges were later dismissed.
Martinez-Alcocer was convicted of driving under the influence of intoxicants in 2012 and 2013. Alvarez-Ochoa also has a DUII charge that was sent through a diversion program.
Lt. Marc Shrake, a spokesman for the Sheriff's Office, said the victim of the attack had received appropriate medical care.
"The man was treated," Shrake said. "He definitely was assaulted."
