Outlook seeks fun photo submissions
1 … 2 … 3 … Say "cheese"!
Do your family and friends groan every time you show up anywhere because your camera seems to be an extra appendage?
Then The Outlook and Sandy Post want you!
We are getting ready to publish our annual Visitors Guide, which lists places to go and things to do in our beautiful region.
This publication receives wide distribution to visitors via local chambers of commerce and businesses, as well as readers of The Outlook and Sandy Post.
Of course the best way to show off this wonderful area we call home is through photos. And that's where you, our camera-happy readers, come in.
We are looking for scenic shots of local and Columbia River Gorge landmarks and trails, photos of family fun in local parks, community events or anyplace you might wander that illustrates all the things there are to do in the East Multnomah County and mountain corridor areas.
While we appreciate nature photography as much as anyone, we are looking for photos that include happy, smiling people obviously enjoying themselves.
But here's the best part: one photo will be chosen to grace the cover of the 2018 Visitors Guide. Runners up will be considered for use inside the publication.
We're even prepared to offer prize packages to the top three photographers, along with photo credit, of course.
• First prize: $100 Visa gift card and four Sandy Cinema movie passes.
• Second prize: $25 Al's Garden Center gift card, plus a $25 Original Roadhouse gift card and two Sandy Cinema movie passes.
• Third prize: $35 Ristorante di Pompello gift card and two Sandy Cinema movie passes.
So here's the dirt: deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. Friday, April 27. Photos must be 1 megabyte or larger in size and can be emailed to Anne Endicott, special sections editor, at [email protected] Please identify where the photo was taken and provide us with your name and contact information. If you have questions, Endicott can be reached at 503-492-5118.
Ready? Grab your camera and show us what you've got.
