Bank posts gains for seven straight quarters

Riverview Community Bank recently reported earnings of $16.6 million for the fourth fiscal quarter ending March 31, 2014.

The news marks the seventh consecutive quarter of profitability for the bank, which posted earnings of $1.6 million during the fourth fiscal quarter last year.

In April, Riverview Bancorp announced that the Office of the Comptroller of Currency had lifted its agreement with Riverview Community Bank after the bank exceeded the OCC’s regulatory requirements for capital levels.

Utilizing smartphone technology in business

Learn how to integrate popular phone apps in your business during the Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center’s May Learn at Lunch session.

The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greater Gresham Baptist Church, Build A, the Rock Room, 3848 N.E. Division St.

Scheduled speaker is Ryan Wright, a business account executive with Comcast Business. Wright will provide tips and information on useful business apps such as Comcast Voice Edge, Genius Scan, Docusign and Box.

There is no charge for chamber members. Cost for future members is $15. Attendees will need to bring a lunch and registration is required.

Adventist Health appoints new leadership

Newmyer Joyce Newmyer will take over reins as president of the Northwest Region of Adventist Health effective May 30, which includes the position of president and CEO of Adventist Medical Center in Portland.

She will replace Tom Russell, who has been named corporate vice president of population health innovations for Adventist Health’s 19 hospitals in four western states.

Newmyer holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University in Fresno, and a master’s degree in health services administration from St. Francis University in Joliet, Ill. She has served at Washington Adventist Hospital in Maryland the past five years, serving as president for three years.
