Meet The Outlook's newest team member

It’s hard to imagine why anyone would leave the tropical islands of Hawaii, but that’s exactly what The Outlook’s newest member of the advertising department did in 2000.

“My mom was looking for better job and educational opportunities,” said ShyAnn Kaehuaea, marketing consultant for Sandy and Estacada. “We lived in Portland for about a year and then moved to Seattle, which is where I basically grew up. I’m a huge Seahawks fan.”

KAEHUAEA A Honolulu native, ShyAnn lived in several locations around the Northwest before settling in the Gresham area in 2010. She graduated from Corbett High School in 2011 and went on to Mt. Hood Community College, intending to study nursing. Instead, she became a certified nursing assistant and spent time caring for an ailing family member.

An admitted people person, 20-year-old ShyAnn switched gears and took a job as a leasing agent for a Gresham property management company. Part of the job, she said, required various marketing duties, which led her to an interest in advertising.

“I found I liked helping people with their businesses,” she said. “It kept me on my toes.”

ShyAnn will work with businesses in the Sandy and Estacada areas. Since joining the advertising team in mid-July, ShyAnn has hit the ground running, getting reacquainted with the merchants in her adopted hometown.

“Every day is totally different,” she said. “I get to out out and meet people, and the days go by really quickly.”

ShyAnn can be reached at 503-492-5111 or via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
