David Douglas suffers a shutout on its home field

Oregon City scores two early TDs on its way to a 35-0 win

by: THE OUTLOOK: DAVID BALL - David Douglas QB Henry Vu looks for an open receiver during Fridays 35-0 loss to Oregon City.David Douglas had a chance to climb back into the game late in the third quarter, but Oregon City tacklers weren’t about to step out of the way.

Trailing 21-0, the Scots were in desperate need of points, which seemed within reach after running back Andre Reasno broke loose for a 21-yard gain to convert a 3rd-and-10.

With the ball inside the 10-yard-line, the Scots were a play away from lighting up their side of the scoreboard. But Oregon City lineman D.J. Vandervort broke into the backfield and took down Reasno for a 6-yard loss, and teammate Anthony Corvi tackled Scots’ QB Henry Vu behind the line on the next play to set up a long fourth-down play.

The Scots last gasp was a pass that sailed high and out the back of the end zone.

David Douglas would not put up any points on this night, which ended in a 35-0 loss to the Pioneers.
