The Bruins outscore Sandy 14-4 in the fourth quarter to run away with the nonleague win

by: THE OUTLOOK: DAVID BALL - Barlow guard Bethany Leliefeld matches up at halfcourt during the second half of the teams 45-24 road win Monday night. SANDY — The Barlow girls basketball team turned up the pressure in the second half Monday night to score a 45-24 win at Sandy.

The Bruins carried a double-digit margin through most of the second half, holding the Pioneers to only two made baskets after the break.

Sandy had a chance for the last shot with :04 left in the third quarter. The Pioneers were inbounding under their own basket, but would never touch the ball. Barlow slapped on full-court pressure, and Bethany Leliefeld rushed onto the scene to intercept the inbounds pass. She was fouled while twisting her body to get out from under the hoop and made 1 of 2 free throws to send Barlow into the fourth quarter with an 11-point lead.
