Barlow scores in every inning to blank Lincoln 10-0 in the second round

by: THE OUTLOOK: DAVID BALL - Barlows Meagan Bratcher heads down the first-base line after making contact Wednesday. She came around to score in all three of her at-bats. CLACKAMAS — Barlow kept rolling through the 6A softball playoffs with its second straight mercy-rule win, taking out Lincoln 10-0 in five innings Wednesday afternoon at the Hoodview complex.

The Bruins set the tone when pitcher Nena Dudley struck out the side in the first inning. She would send 12 of the first 13 batters she faced back to the dugout in the shutout effort.

“It helps to have an enthusiastic team behind you, and getting out ahead of the batters gives me something positive to build from,” Dudley said.

Barlow scored in each of the five innings, highlighted when Kaylee Ree connected for the biggest hit of the day — a triple to the left-field fence that brought across Meagan Bratcher to put the Bruins in command 6-0 heading into the late innings.

Barlow ended the game with a four-run spurt in the fifth inning.
