by: THE OUTLOOK: DAVID BALL - Gresham first baseman Dylan Hockert stretches to make a catch on a pick-off attempt during Sundays 6-5 win over West Linn in the championship game.Gresham’s Advanced Metals summer team rallied in the sixth inning to knock off West Linn 6-5 in the title game of a 10-team Futures baseball tournament hosted by Centennial on Sunday.

Tyler Wood tied the game when a dropped third strike by the Lions opened the door for him to sprint home. Moments later, pinch-hitter Dylan Hockert delivered a single to left field that brought in Kyle Wells with the winning run.

West Linn got the tying run on base with a lead-off single by Ivan Hughes in the seventh inning, but he wouldn’t advance any farther. Gresham converted a series of outs, ending the game when catcher Wood threw out Hughes attempting to steal second base.

Gresham beat Aloha and Wilsonville in round-robin action and knocked off Reynolds 4-2 in the Sunday afternoon semifinal.
