Some quality pinch-hitting in the ninth inning made the Corvallis Knights sweat it out, but in the end the reigning West Coast League champs left town with a 7-6 win Sunday night and a sweep of the series to begin the second half of the summer schedule.

Trailing 7-3 and seeing his team unable to produce a hit since the fifth inning, GreyWolves coach Justin Barchus went to his bench to provide a spark in the team's final at-bats.

Each player he called out of the dugout delivered.

Jackson Thoreson and Ross Puskarich sandwiched singles around a double from R.J. Teijeiro, and a series of four wild pitches by Corvallis reliever Jordan Qsar made it a one-run game.

Down to its final out, Gresham had Ryan Novis in the batter's box after hitting a home run and a two-run single earlier in the game, but his final at-bat would end on a grounder to second base.

The GreyWolves return to league action at 6:35 p.m. Monday with the start of the three-game home series against Walla Walla.
