Reynolds minors see early lead disappear
Minors District 2 tournament
CLACKAMAS — The Reynolds Ragers minors looked ready to avenge an earlier loss to host Clackamas after getting out to a fast start in an elimination game Monday night at the District 2 Little League tournament, but the Cavaliers found their groove for a big third inning to claim the 17-6 comeback win.
The Ragers started the game with five consecutive singles with Ja'Quante Jackson providing the biggest blow with a two-run single to center field to put the Ragers up 4-0 before they had registered an out.
Clackamas recovered with starting pitcher Corbin Davis striking out the last two batters to get out of the inning.
Clackamas rushed back to tie the game in the bottom of the second and put the game out of reach with an 11-run scoring spree in the bottom of the third — a stretch that saw three doubles and a triple.
The Ragers finished third in the five-team bracket.
Clackamas went on to win twice 12-2 and 14-4 over Southeast Portland to claim the title.
