Barlow boys get past Parkrose in overtime
Mount Hood Conference
PORTLAND — Barlow used a pair of breakaway goals in overtime to land a 9-7 win at Parkrose on Thursday night.
The teams were locked in a 7-7 tie heading into the final three minutes when Parkrose lost a pass along the sideline. Barlow coach Mike Riegelmann immediately pointed to the opposite end of the pool where Clayton Swank was along behind the defense. Barlow got a quick restart, sending the ball ahead to Swank, who looped a shot over the top of the Broncos' keeper for the winning goal.
The Bruins would catch Parkrose in transition once more — this time creating a 3-on-1 chance that finished with Swank sending a shot home from the right side.
Barlow sent the game to overtime when Brandon Nelson converted a goal from beyond the 5-meter cone with 0:12 on the clock.
