PORTLAND — The Barlow boys track and field team dominated the field events to score a sweep over Clackamas and David Douglas to open the Mount Hood Conference season last week.
The Bruins scored first-place points in five of the seven field events, kickstarted by sophomore Conrad Greeley, who raced back-and-forth across the infield to pick up wins in the pole vault (11 feet, 6 inches) and long jump (20-2.5), which were being contested simultaneously early in the day.
Barlow overcame a two-point deficit on the track to beat Clackamas 84-61 in the team score, while completing the sweep with an 85-60 win over host David Douglas.
• The Barlow girls scored a 77-68 win over David Douglas to earn a split in the girls meet.
