Tuality appoints new chief medical officer
Joe Hardman, M.D., is Tuality Healthcare's new Chief Medical Officer, responsible for strengthening the relationship between hospital administration and medical staff, supervising physicians and fosting a culture that promotes patient safety.
Harman has been serving as interim chief medical officer since February 2017, and accepted the position permanently last week.
"Since Dr. Hardman's arrival, I have continually received praise regarding his interface with our providers and leadershipJ," said Manny Berman, president and CEO of Tuality Healthcare. "I have continued to receive requests to appoint him as the permanent Chief Medical Officer."
Hardman received his B.S. degree in physiological science from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1997 and his M.D. degree from the University of California, San Diego in 2003. He is a general internist who has been practicing at OHSU — a Tuality partner — for nearly 10 years with a primary clinical focus on outpatient primary care internal medicine. He has also worked on the inpatient teaching service at OHSU.
Hardman lives in Portland with his wife and two children.
