Westside Quilters Guild and Quilt Barn Trail organizations recognized for efforts in boosting Washington County toruism.

Westside Quilters Guild recently was honored for its work on the Washington County Quilt Barn Trail.Westside Quilters Guild and the Quilt Barn Trail of Oregon's Washington County were awarded the Thomas M. Brian Leadership award at the 2017 Washington County Visitors Association tourism luncheon last month.

The award was established in 2012 to recognize individuals who have demonstrated leadership and advocacy for the local tourism industry.

The Quilt Barn Trail was established in 2014 to increase interest in Washington County's agriculture and tourism by installing large painted quilt blocks on area barns and buildings.

A project of Westside Quilters Guild, the group's leader Julie Mason has overseen 30 block installations, with another 30 planned for the future. A map of the trail and more information is available at
