FATHER'S DAY PARTY — Electrons will come alive when dads, grandfathers and kids snap together radios, burglar alarms and doorbells at iSpark Toys, 925 N.E. Orenco Station Loop, Hillsboro. BEAVERTON HIGH — The Golden Grad Luncheon for graduates who graduated from Beaverton High School 50 or more years ago will be held Wednesday, June 29, in the high school's cafeteria. ADDING EDIBLES — Sue Ryburn presents at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at the Learning Garden at Jenkins Estate, 8005 S.W. Grabhorn Road, Beaverton. Learn how to incorporate edible fruits, vegetables and herbs into the home garden alongside landscape plants. Learn design principles and types of edible plants that do well in our local area. CONTAINER GARDENING — Presenters Bridget Shaw, Margery Brunello and Jerry Anderson will present at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at the Demonstration Garden at the Washington County Fair Complex, 882 N.E. 28th Ave., Hillsboro. Tour the demonstration garden and see the container garden bed project. Discussion will include soils, fertilizers, drainage and match recommended plant materials with appropriate sized containers. OREGON HISTORY — Oregon historian Barney Blalock will speak at 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 20. Blalock is the author of several books about the history of Portland, including "Oregon Prizefighters" and "The Oregon Shanghaiers."
