Venues in Hillsboro, Forest Grove feature a variety of music to help ring in 2018.

Forest Grove and Hillsboro residents can ring in 2018 in style, courtesy of a few special events happening on New Year's Eve this year.

McMenamin's Grand Lodge, 3505 Pacific Ave., will be having a celebration featuring live music from two bands. Kris Deelane and The Hurt are known as Portland's old and new school soul extravaganza. They'll be playing some original tunes, as well as Motown and Atlantic soul hits from the '60s and '70s. Deelane has performed with or shared stages with national artists such as Brian Wilson, Joan Jett and more. The Hurt is ten players strong and features a number of Portland musicians including Ned Failing on drums, Steve Kerin on keys, Heidi Shuler on percussion and Mark Bowden on guitar.COURTESY PHOTO - Hillsboro's Shute Park Library will hold a Noon Years Eve celebration for the younger crowd, complete with an apple cider toast -- at noon Dec. 31.

Songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Josiah Payne and Belinda Underwood make up Bigfoot Mojo, the second band featured in the Grand Lodge's music line-up. They've captivated audiences with groove-based melodies and vocal harmonies. Heavily influenced by bluegrass and vintage swing, they use their diverse backgrounds to set a new standard for original music.

The event will run from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and is a ages 21 and up event. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 the day of the show, and can be purchased online at www.mcmenamins.com/grandlodge.

McMenamin's Cornelius Pass Roadhouse (4045 N.W. Cornelius Pass Road) will also feature live music during the same times. The Coastline is a Portland-based trio that perform music ranging from lounge rock to synth-driven electro pop. They'll be the sole band for the evening at that location, and their performance will be free to attend.
