This week's lineup includes funk, soul and more

by: SUBMITTED PHOTOS - Gypsy Soul will present the Moonlight and Music concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Millennium Plaza Park.

The summer outdoor concerts in the park are still pouring music into the open air, so pack your picnic, blankets or low sand chairs and head out to enjoy free entertainment.

Outdoor movies and plays are also part of the fun. This week’s lineup includes:

July 25

Summer on the Green, 7 p.m. at the Lajos Balogh Performance Shell on the Marylhurst University campus, features Patrick Lamb Band.

This 10-piece band plays the best of funk and soul.

July 25, 26 and 27

“The Would-Be Gentleman,” Masque Alfresco will perform Moliere’s Commedia dell’arte Satire at 7 p.m. at George Rogers Park, 611 S. State St. Lake Oswego, on the lawn in front of the iron foundry. Admission is free though the hat will be passed at the end of the show to defray expenses.

The show continues Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings through Aug. 24.

This is appropriate for the whole family.

July 27

Moonlight and Music, 6 p.m. Millennium Plaza Park features Gypsy Soul

Gypsy Soul, anchored by Cilette Swann’s crystal-clear and expressive vocals and Roman Morykit’s multi-instrumental musical ability, plays music ranging from full on Americana heartland rock to country, blues, R&B, world beat and New Age.

July 30

Sounds of Summer, 7 p.m. Foothills Park features Oncore

Oncore believes that a party should be for the people. They aim to please. As a totally live band (with no backing pre-recorded tracks), they complete the show through their dynamic and spontaneous ability to read and play to the crowd, an art form in itself. The effect: the band and the crowd become one amazing experience.

July 31

Soulmates featuring Jay Bird Koder, 6:30 p.m., Tanner Creek Park, 3456 Parker Road, West Linn.

Drawing from a deep well of seemingly infinite artistry, Soulmates fills the venue with their musical message of love, peace and soul. This is true music magic.

Movies in the Park

July 31 “Despicable Me 2” rated PG will be shown during Lake Oswego’s Movies in the Park at Millennium Plaza Park. Bring blankets, pillows and low sand chairs.

Show starts at dusk, approximately 8:30 to 9 p.m. Come early for the best seating.

West Linn’s Movies in the Park series continues with a screening of “Rudy” at Midhill Park, 18505 Upper Midhill Drive 8:30 p.m. July 25.
