What began as a simple street fair 15 years ago has grown into ArtBurst Northwest, a showcase of high-quality fine arts and crafts created by local artists. Now housed on the Marylhurst University campus at 17600 Pacific Highway, ArtBurst will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The show began as the Village of Willamette Arts Festival and included three artists’ work. The show included more artists and grew at such a pace that it was moved to Willamette Park in 2008. In 2013, the show moved to Marylhurst and took on the name ArtBurst Northwest.

“What you can expect to see at the 2014 event is 11 top-quality juried artists showing excellent paintings, sculpture, jewelry, glass, garden art, textiles and more,” Publicity Chairwoman Lora Helmer said. There will be “strolling musicians creating a wonderful, festive experience, courtyard seating areas for comfort and enjoyment, high-quality vendors providing great food and beverages, community service organizations adding unique contributions to the festival, tourists and visitors discovering what our region has to offer.”

Free parking and shuttle service and in-field transportation for those requiring it will also be available.
