The Ronna and Eric Hoffman Gallery of Contemporary Art at Lewis & Clark College will present “Dana Lynn Louis: Clearing” Sept. 9 through Dec. 14.

In this interdisciplinary and interactive exhibition, Louis will transform the Hoffman Gallery into an experiential environment that explores the varied meanings of “clearing.” Viewers will enter an ethereal landscape inside and outside of the gallery, composed of drawings, sculpture, photography, projections and sound.

Louis will be drawing in the gallery from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 13, 16, 20 and 23.

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 9.

The artist will talk about the exhibition at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in Miller 105.

Guided group meditations will be held at 4 p.m. each Tuesday.

The show closes with a ceremony at which Louis will burn envelopes containing wishes for clearing that are coming from all over the world. Clearing envelopes will be available in the gallery throughout the exhibition. The ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 9 in Hoffman Gallery.

Hours of the Hoffman Gallery are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Admission is free. Parking is free at Lewis & Clark on weekends.

Lewis & Clark College is located at 0615 SW Palatine Hill Road in Portland.
