Oct. 12, 7 p.m.: Mark Reaksecker speaks on his book "Healthy Body, Happy Life" at the Lake Oswego Public Library, 706 4th St. The book describes Reaksecker's personal struggle with cancer and the knowledge he gained in attempting to become healthy. The event is free, all are welcome.
Oct. 12, 7 to 8:30 p.m.: Book launch party for Dede Montgomery's "My Music Man" at Cafe West Linn, 1877 Willamette Falls Drive, West Linn. Free, all welcome.
Oct. 14, 10:30 a.m. to noon: LEGO Club at the Lake Oswego Public Library, 706 4th St.
Oct. 16, 6 to 8 p.m.: Family movie night at the Lake Oswego Public Library, 706 4th St.
Oct. 17, 3 to 5 p.m.: Talk with West Linn City Councilor Teri Cummings at the West Linn Public Library, 1595 Burns St. Share ideas and discuss topics of interest.
Oct. 17, 7 p.m.: The Third Tuesday Author Series at the Lake Oswego Public Library features Linda Beutler, author of "Plant Lovers Guide to Clematis," and introduction to gardening with clematis. Free and open to all. The library is located at 706 4th St.
Oct. 18, 6:30 p.m.: Music in the Stacks features singer/songwriter Steve Hale at the West Linn Public Library, 1595 Burns St.
Oct. 19, 4:30 p.m.: Magic Workshop with Presto the Magician. Tweens can discover some of the secrets behind the principles of magic. The magic tricks Presto will reveal and teach are appropriate for beginners and perfect for inspiring kids to explore more. Free; at the West Linn Public Library, 1595 Burns St.
