Muscles in Motion presents seminar on nutrition, exercise

Muscles in Motion will present The Sweet Science of Nutrition and Exercise at 1 p.m. Jan. 20 at the fitness studio, located at 17437 Boones Ferry Road, suite 300 in Lake Oswego. Strength coaches Patrick Long and Hans Streckenbach will share information about the effect sugar has on the body and it's relationship to exercise. Guest speaker will be Cynthia Adams of Intentional Health Coaching will talk about quitting the sugar habit. The event is free. Call 503-699-6948 to reserve a seat.

Join West Linn Community Chorus

Do you love to sing? Lift your spirits and join the West Linn Community Chorus. This is a non-audition chorus, which performs a wide variety of music styles, with singers from all over the Portland metro area. The chorus is seeking new members and will start rehearsals Jan. 11, with subsequent weekly rehearsals taking place each Thursday at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 19200 Willamette Falls Drive, West Linn. Rehearsals run from 7 to 9 p.m. with registration beginning at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 11. All voice types especially tenors, basses and first sopranos are needed. Art classes at Cannon Beach Jan. 13

Local artists Jan Rimerman, Jani Hoberg and Lisa Wiser will offer Layers, Line and Light!, a mixed medium on paper specialty workshop at Cannon Beach Art Association, 1064 S. Hemlock St. in Cannon Beach. The festivities take place Jan. 13. Class will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and an art reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.

The workshop will explore the use of paper, powdered charcoal, plexiglass, etching ink, pencils and acrylic paint all in one class. Students will have an opportunity to create their own images using a square format and the three artists' unique techniques. Call 503-436-0744 to learn more.

Three Rivers Artist Guild to hold reception Jan. 21

Three Rivers Artist Guild will hold a Meet the Artist reception from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 21 at Singer Hill Cafe, 623 7th St. Oregon City. Complimentary appetizers and coffee will be served.
