Five sculptures have been nominated by a seven-member selection committee made up of artists, residents and city employees. The winner of the citywide vote will become part of Lake Oswego’s permanent art collection, the Gallery Without Walls, a nationally recognized program.

The nominees include “Unwrapped” by Dan Toone, located on Third Street between A and B avenues; “Sunflower” by Patricia Vader, located on Sundleaf Plaza; “Guardian of the Lake” by Brian Mock, located on First Street south of A Avenue; “Egg” by James Lapp, located at Third Street and A Avenue; and “Audrey” by Guy Wilson at the corner of Second Street and B Avenue.

“Lake Oswego’s Gallery Without Walls establishes a unique sense of place and offers an enriched visual environment for community members and visitors alike,” said Arts Council Director Nancy Nye. “Public art creates connections between people of all ages, encouraging lively discussion and opportunities for exploration, discovery and delight. It’s so important to have the community participate in curating their own art collection.”

Ballots can be found in city hall, 380 A Ave.; the Lake Oswego library, 706 Fourth St.; the Arts Council office, 510 First St.; The Oilerie, 438 First St.; Nicoletta’s Table and Massage Envy, both located at 333 S. State St.; and at the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce, 459 Third St. People can vote online at
