MOVIES IN THE PARK (AUG 3): Celebrate summer on Thursday night with a family-friendly movie under the stars at Millennium Plaza Park (200 First St.). Popcorn and other tasty treats will be for sale, but be sure to bring your own blankets, pillows and low-back chairs. The movie — Disney and Pixar's "Brave" is this week's selection — is free and starts at dusk.
SAFETY SEAT CLINIC (AUG. 5): The Lake Oswego fire and police departments will hold a free child safety seat clinic from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Main Fire Station (300 B Ave.) Technicians will be on hand to check car seats for correct installation, damage, recalls and appropriateness for the child's size and age. FARMERS MARKET (AUG. 5): The Lake Oswego Farmers Market returns to Millennium Plaza Park on Saturday, with more than 80 vendors offering fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, cheeses, baked goods, hot foods, artisan products and nursery items. Live music, too. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
MUSIC & MOONLIGHT (AUG. 6): The City's popular Music & Moonlight concert series continues at 6 p.m. Sunday with a performance by Debra Arlyn & The Goodness in Millennium Plaza Park (200 First St.). The family-friendly concerts are free.

NINTH-ANNUAL PHOTO CONTEST: Amateur and professional photographers are invited to enter their best images in the ninth-annual City of Lake Oswego photo contest. There are seven categories, with prizes given to first-, second- and third-place winners. All winning photos will be included in a special photo exhibit throughout the following year, as well as on the City's website, in its HelloLO publications and in The Review. Entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8; contest winners will be announced in November.
