When it comes to fighting crime in Lake Oswego, there's no call too small for the LOPD


2/27/18 7:52 a.m. A black Jeep Patriot was stolen overnight on Mount Jefferson Terrace by theives who found a spare key on the vehicle's center console.Two days later, Portland Police located the vehicle at Northwest Second Avenue and Davis Street and notified the owner.

2/27/18 8:10 p.m. A 1995 Geo Prizm was taken sometime in the past two days from a residential parking lot on Eaglecrest Drive. Two days later, Portland Police found the vehicle on Southeast Powell Boulevard and notified the owner.

2/28/18 7:19 a.m. A grey 2004 Ford Explorer was stolen overnight from the parking lot of The Ridge at Mountain Park on Mount Jefferson Terrace. Later in the day, another resident reported that someone had rummaged through her yellow Volkswagen Beetle twice in the past two days, but nothing was taken.

3/2/18 5:31 a.m. A black Dodge Ram pickup with a toolbox in the bed and a "Doctor Who" sticker on the back window was stolen from a residential parking lot on Eaglecrest Drive.


3/5/18 6:52 p.m. A Lake Oswego resident told police that a man posing as her husband changed the address on her bank account.


2/27/18 10:28 a.m. Miscellaneous items were taken from a Honda Civic on Eaglecrest Drive.

2/27/18 1:47 p.m. Mail was reported stolen from a home on Tanglewood Drive.

2/28/18 6:54 a.m. Five pair of sunglasses, one pair of pants and $15 in change were taken from a vehicle overnight on Jefferson Parkway.

3/1/18 2:33 p.m. A package was reported stolen from a home on Goodall Road.

3/2/18 1:25 p.m. Thieves took a pocketknife from an unlocked Honda Civic and stole clothes and a skateboard from a Nissan Altima at an apartment complex on Eaglecrest Drive.

3/2/18 3:15 p.m. Sunglasses and a GPS system were taken from a Hyundai Tucson on Parkview Drive.


2/28/18 12:57 p.m. A motorist told police she slammed on her brakes when the railroad warning lights came on at Boones Ferry Road and Jean Way, but not in time to avoid the crossing arms that came down on her Toyota Landcrusier and smashed the vehicle's windshield.

3/5/18 3:20 p.m. A driver was cited for failure to avoid a stopped vehicle after a two-car crash on Schalit Way sent both vehicles off the road.


2/25/18 1:25 p.m. A 16-year-old girl who had run away from the Robinswood group home was located near a bus top on Highway 43 and released to juvenile authorities.

2/26/18 8:25 a.m. Someone smashed the window of a Dodge Dakota pickup on Jefferson Parkway overnight, but nothing was reported stolen. Later in the day, vandals broke a window on a Lexus sedan on Oswego Summit but left the car's contents behind, including a brown towel and a Husky screwdriver.

2/26/18 9:39 a.m. A white man in his 50s with a scruffy mustache and beard pulled up to a Dumpster at an apartment complex on Kerr Parkway and tossed several bags of trash inside before leaving the scene in a beige or gray Jeep Grand Cherokee. The apartment manager wants the suspect found — and warned.

2/26/18 2:35 p.m. PGE asked police to check on a man who threatened to kill himself when his power was turned off. "Today would be a good day to die," the man reportedly said before hanging up. Officers determined that the man was depressed, but that he was not a threat to himself or others.

2/26/18 2:44 p.m. When a railroad employee asked a woman to stop walking along the tracks near Bryant Road and Lower Drive, she refused to leave and said she was with the FBI. She was not a federal agent, however, and police cited the 34-year-old woman for trespassing.

2/27/18 2:24 p.m. A "creepy guy" in black leather pants was spotted rummaging through trash in the alley behind Eighth Street. On a positive note, the man was apparently a patriotic Dumpster diver — he had an American flag hanging out of his pocket, police were told.

2/27/18 11:34 p.m. A neighbor spotted a young woman sitting inside a car but couldn't tell if she was putting on her makeup or doing drugs, so he called police. When officers arrived, they determined that the girl was the subject of a missing person case in Vancouver, Wash., but she seemed fine (no drug paraphernalia was found), said she had contacted her mom recently and was now staying at a friend's house in Lake Oswego. The appropriate authorities were notified.

2/28/18 11:15 a.m. Scouts invited police officers to attend their Pinewood Derby races in the basement at Our Lady of the Lake.
