Dancers present benefit performance
Dancers from Lake Oswego Academy of Dance will present their sixth-annual benefit performance June 4 for the Lake Oswego Meals on Wheels program.
Admission to the fundraiser is a recommended donation of $5 per person — the cost of a freshly prepared and delivered Meals on Wheels meal to a homebound Lake Oswego senior or disabled person. Donors of more than $10 will receive a ticket for a drawing of a gift basket. Several gift baskets will be available as raffle prizes, a highlight of the event.
The Lake Oswego Meals on Wheels program serves more than 16,000 meals annually to seniors, disabled and homebound LO residents. The meals are prepared from scratch following strict nutritional standards, and the organization uses local and farm-to-table ingredients when available. The meals include freshly baked bread, rolls and desserts and volunteers package and delivery hot and cold portions every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to participants' homes. The program offers frozen meals upon request.
In addition, Meals on Wheels offers residents a sit-down lunch option with table service, tablecloths, fresh flowers, and live piano music at the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center.
All of these services are made possible as a result of the work of many volunteers.
The benefit performance will take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center, 505 G Ave. in Lake Oswego. Tickets can be purchased in advance from Lake Oswego Academy of Dance by calling 503-697-3673 and will be available at the door.
Donations to Lake Oswego Meals on Wheels can be made securely online at lakeoswegomealsonwheels.org/donate or by mailing a check payable to LOMOW, 505 G Ave., Lake Oswego, OR 97034. Or call 503-635-3758.
