Learn about long-term care
A majority of people who are able to save for retirement do so anticipating a relatively healthy life.
Often, long-term care is not considered until it is needed, and then the people who need it and their loves ones are faced with a chaotic whirlwind of options and money concerns. Researching long-term care facilities spurs another storm of questions. What can I afford, or what am I willing to pay? Are there options other than a care facility?
To help you understand what long-term care entails, representatives from the law office of Geoff Bernhardt will present "How to Pay for Long-Term Care Without Going Broke" from 2:30-4 p.m. June 19.
Attorney Geoff Bernhardt and his team specialize in helping seniors and their families with important legal issues concerning health, estate and financial matters.
The presentation is free; registration is requested to ensure adequate seating. Call 503-635-3758 to reserve seats for you and your family.
And don't forget to start the weekend off with our Father's Day Barbeque, taking place at the center at noon Friday, June 16. It's a delicious way to honor yourself as a father and all the father figures who have made a difference in your life. Chef Sarah promises German chocolate cake for dessert — it can't get better than that! Call to let us know you will be coming.
The lunch menu this week features barbecued pork ribs for the Father's Day Barbecue on Friday, June 16; meatloaf is the Comfort Food Monday entrée June 19; and we'll have chicken cacciatore on Wednesday, June 21. Cost is a suggested donation of $4 for those 60 and older and $5 for everyone else.
