Ever wonder how to repair a clock? West Linn Parks and Recreation has a class to teach you how to make those intricate repairs.

West Linn Parks and Recreation strives to provide unique experiences for all citizens, and this introductory workshop in clock repair is a prime example of the lengths the staff goes to give you something useful and unique. The one-day class is perfect for ages 13 through adults, with little or no knowledge of clock repair. The instructor will demonstrate basic movement repairs using real clocks and the tools used for common clock repairs. The workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 2 at the West Linn Adult Community Center. The fee is $60.

Storybook Y Chef — Campers ages 4-6 will bring favorite childhood books to life with games, crafts and food. After reading the story they will create a recipe inspired by the book. The class is Aug. 14-18, 9 a.m. to noon at the Adult Community Center. The class fee is $131.

Fashion, Faces and Flowers — For fashionistas, florists and budding makeup artists, this Young Rembrandts' workshop celebrates the beautiful world of girls. Every day students will be challenged and delighted to draw images that exude femininity and loveliness. Students will draw and color faces, stretch their imaginations illustrating whimsical flowers and challenge their creativity when tying them all together in fanciful settings. Prepare for elegance and a heap of drawing excellence. Enroll your child today. Young Rembrandts puts on this camp, Aug. 14-17 from 12:15 - 3 p.m. Join the fun for only $190.

Moving with Science — Mad Science presents a fun-filled exploration of how science keeps our world moving. Take a close-up look at a wide array of scientific disciplines:  chemistry, biology, engineering, physics and optics. Take apart owl pellets to see what they cannot digest. Join a team of camper engineers and build bridges, domes, cubes and pyramids. Make your own sidewalk chalk, crystal gardens and a chromatography-dyed T-shirt. The camp is Monday - Friday, Aug. 14-18, 9 a.m. to noon, cost is $168.

Bob Ross Oil Painting — Art instructor Judy takes beginners and seasoned painters from a blank canvas to a completed masterpiece in one class. All supplies are provided. Classes are offered from 5:30 - 9 p.m. Aug. 10 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 26. Both classes are taught at the Adult Community Center for a cost of $48.
