Duncan to address League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters of Clackamas County will hold its regular monthly meeting Oct. 17 at Oswego Heritage House, 398 10th St., Lake Oswego. Guest speaker is Angus Duncan, chair of the Oregon Global Warming Commission, who will speak on greenhouse gas emissions.
Duncan has served as president and CEO of the Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) since its formation in 1998. He previously worked on energy development in the private sector and as director of Energy Policy for the U.S. Department of Transportation.
In 2004, Duncan chaired the drafting committee that wrote Oregon's Climate Change Strategy for Gov. Ted Kulongski, and in 2006 chaired the Governor's Drafting Committee in designing an Oregon load-based carbon emissions cap and trade mechanism. Duncan currently serves on Oregon's Transportation and Land Use committee, the Comunication and Outreach committee, the Energy Utilities, Stationary Sources committee and the Science and Technology committee.
The League of Women Voters of Clackamas County invites all to attend the free program and learn what Oregon is doing to reduce greenhouse emissions. The event takes place from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Oct. 17 at Oswego Heritage House, 398 10th St. in Lake Oswego.
