Clackamas Federal Credit Union board of directors appoints Mary Greco

by: COURTESY OF CLACKAMAS FEDERAL CREDIT UNION - Mary Greco replaces Diann Owen as CEO.This month, Mary Greco stepped up from vice president to CEO of the Clackamas Federal Credit Union, which has a branch in the Safeway in Molalla. The board of directors unanimously chose her. She has 31 years of experience working for credit unions.

“Mary has a depth of experience and brings a passion for employees and member service,” said Keith Galitz, chairman of the credit union. “This is a time of significant change and challenges in our industry.”

“The economy has been a challenge for all of us,” Greco said. “But it seems to be getting better. [The credit union was] very fortunate because we were well capitalized. We had the funding to get through the recession.”

The credit union recently opened a branch in Sandy and West Linn. At this time there are no plans to open new branches, Greco said.

Greco replaced Diann Owen, who left in May. “It was a mutual decision between her and the board,” Greco said. “She was a wonderful CEO.”

Greco doesn’t foresee the change in leadership to affect the credit union members or the employees. She does bring her own unique leadership philosophy to the role though.

She wants to focus on training, educating and mentoring the credit union’s employees. “They are tremendously skilled people,” she said. “I want to retain and attract talent.”
