Calvin T. Cartwright

Calvin T. “Hoss” Cartwright died Jan. 7, 2014. He was 64. He was born July 18, 1950.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., March 1 at Molalla Assembly of God.

Raymond Junior Cooper

Raymond Junior Cooper died Feb. 16, 2014. He was 82. He was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Pashastin, Wash., to Otto and Anna (Robertson) Cooper. He married Virginia Ruth Miller May 1, 1955.

He grew up on the Oregon Coast range. He served in the Army in Korea. He logged with his father, was an engine mechanic, had a dairy farm, ran his own janitorial business and retired from the Oregonian newspaper distribution business.

He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of America. He enjoyed animals, hunting, crossword puzzles and reading the Oregonian.

Survivors are his wife, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-laws, Kenneth and Linda, Donald and Shirley, William and Janet, David, and Gary and Dianne; sister, Connie; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Anna.

Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m., Feb. 21, at the Canby Funeral Chapel, located at 160 South Grant Street.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Feb. 22, at Canby Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Union Gospel Mission located in Portland.

Eddie Ruth Willeford

Eddie Ruth Willeford died Feb. 14, 2014. She was 92. She was born Oct. 10, 1921, near Cooper, Texas, to Edmund and Jewell Singleton. She married Dr. A.B. Willeford in 1950.

She grew up in Texas and in 1943 received a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from East Texas State College for Women. She moved to Oregon in 1953. They first moved to Woodburn but settled in Molalla. There A.B. Willeford maintained a successful medical practice. In 1976, she obtained her associate degree in nursing. She then worked for Lutheran Pioneer Home in Colton, retiring in 1992. During those work years she lived in Charbonneau, Lake Oswego, Salem and Portland, where she resided until her death.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth of Charbonneau, Vincent and Thomas of Portland, Gregory of Salem, and Nancy Ann Collins of Molalla; sister, Kate of Lake Oswego; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
