The basic skills of peacemaking can be taught and used in our daily lives, and when do we need peacemaking more than today?
Kids in grades K-6 are invited to "Come Join the Peace Circle" to learn more about these skills.
Smyrna United Church of Christ presents its summer Peace Village for kids this August 7 through 11, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. The cost for registration for the week is $25, which includes a Peace Village T-shirt, daily snacks, art supplies, and all other materials.
Having a sense of belonging, connecting to nature, mindfulness, and media literacy are important components of having a sense of peace and being able to work for peace, in any faith tradition.
This curriculum, developed by Peace Village, is offered around the world in a number of sites. There are 11 Peace Camps in Oregon, and this is the only one in the Molalla area.
