Raasch has been engaged with Colton athletics for many years. Not only has she cheered on her own kids, but she has also served as a volunteer, parent club president, booster president and the youth football president.

She has been involved at the schools too. For the last two years, she has worked as the special services secretary at the district, and she continues to work in that position.

"We all wear lots of hats here," she said.

Raasch was raised in Troutdale, Oregon, and has lived in Colton for the last 13 years. She originally relocated to raise her children in a rural setting. But ultimately, it was the schools that made her family choose Colton.

"I did a lot of research on the schools, so really, the schools brought me to Colton," Raasch said. "It was a good place, we felt, to move the kids and have them raised, because I wanted them to be in one place their entire career."

It turned out that the country setting and small town athletics were the perfect fit for her family.

"I love that they're a small school and everybody gets to play," Raasch said. "They don't have to do any cuts. I think that's amazing and awesome for every kid."

As the high school athletic director, Raasch's number one focus is communication. She plans to encourage strong communication among coaches, teachers, parents, administrators and student athletes so that all parties are in the know about what is happening and why.

She also hopes to manage the Vikings' athletics in an orderly way and all around to keep the department running smoothly.
