The Molalla Communications Company recently donated $3,800 to purchase 10 new firefighter helmets for the Molalla Rural Fire Protection District.

Molalla Fire has the fourth largest call volume in Clackamas County and responds to almost 3,000 calls per year. Their fire service coverage area is 100 square miles and their ambulance coverage area is 350 square miles. MFD has 12-13 full time staff and 30 part-time volunteers.

"MCC made this possible for our new recruits and this was a huge help as it costs around $3,000 to outfit each firefighter," said Byron Wakefield of MFD.

"They are number one serving our community and are saving lives every day. We were happy to help and appreciate all they do," said Marci Marsh, MCC board chairperson.
