The Molalla FFA chapter came away from the Oregon State FFA Convention with several awards

SUBMITTED PHOTO: MACKENZIE BEHRLE - Twenty-two members from the Molalla FFA chapter participated at the state convention March 23-26 in Redmond, Oregon.While piles of students had taken off on Spring Break adventures, last weekend Molalla FFA members were finally attending the 90th annual Oregon State FFA Convention they had spent months preparing for.

In total, 22 members from the chapter went to the convention to compete in various events, and overall the chapter was successful. The Advanced Parliamentary Procedure team, made up of Gavin Barrett, Audrey Andrews, John Cross, Artemy Ivanov, Janiece Moore and Brice Sperl, came away with an impressive 2nd place win in state. In addition, Ivanov earned two individual wins including state star farmer placement and state home and community development proficiency. The home and community development proficiency award was for his work with Share the Love, and he will move onto nationals in this category.

State Star Farmer Placement- state winner Artemy Ivanov

State Proficiency Home and Community Development- state winner Artemy Ivanov

State Proficiency Goat Production- state finalist Halie McCloud

Agriculture Issues Team- 4th place in the state Josh Kropf, Brice Sperl, Emma Andrews, Sam Moore, Noe Reynaga and David Fregoso

Job Interview- 4th place individual in the state Gavin Barrett

Advanced Parliamentary Procedure Team- 2nd place in the state John Cross, Gavin Barrett, Artemy Ivanov, Janiece Moore, Audrey Andrews and Brice Sperl

FFA Information Test Team- 2nd place in the state Clay Sperl, Alisha Khan and Branden Perla

Sophomore Public Speaking- top 8 in the state Emilie Mendoza

Four State Degree Recipients- Jessica Rhoades, Sam Moore, Noe Reynaga and David Fregoso
