Tipped flatbed truck closes Union Mills
A flat-bed truck hauling 2x6 lumber tipped on its side on Union Mills Road Thursday morning, scattering lumber across the roadway and closing the road.
At approximately 10:25 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, police and fire responded to the scene of the single-vehicle accident on Union Mills Road between Highway 211 and Highway 213 near the intersection of Windy City Road.
Molalla Fire Marshal Mike Penunuri said he does not yet know was caused it. The driver, presumably hauling from one of the local mills, is uninjured.
Union Mills will be closed for several hours, until 3 p.m. or later, while crews work to restack the lumber and clear the flat bed from the road, according to Penunuri. He said Clackamas County's road department is handling traffic control in the area.
"I'm hoping they get it cleared by rush hour, but there are several units of 2x6s scattered across the road," Penunuri said.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is on scene and handling the investigation.
