To the editor:
The May election will give the citizens of Molalla River School District a critical opportunity to restore a valuable community resource when they vote YES on Measure 3-516 to reopen the Molalla Aquatic Center with stable funding.
Our pool has been closed since fall of 2014 because when it was built, there was no provision for operating funds.
The city of Molalla residents unfairly bore the costs when the pool belongs to the entire school district.
This measure would create a volunteer board whose mission would be to sustainably operate the pool with dedicated funding spread among district property owners.
The pool has already been built! Don't let this viable chance to reopen it slip away.
Let's approve Measure 3-516 so our pool can once again provide recreation and rehabilitation for our community.
