by: COURTESY OF J.D. CLARIZIO - Molalla's girls golf team, who took first at Langdon Farms last week.Molalla’s golf teams travelled to Langdon Farms, in North Marion, on Monday, April 7. The girls team took first with a score of 351, and the boys took third with a score of 387.

“Hannah [Clarizio] was low at Langdon,” Coach J.D. Clarizio said. “She’s trying to hit the 70s.”

And she was on course to hit that mark, sitting at 75 on the 17th hole, but a triple bogey on the 18th put her at 81, just a nudge over her goal.

“Overall, it wasn’t horrible, but they didn’t light it up by any means,” Coach Clarizio said. “We’re seeing good signs. We just got to keep playing and keep grinding. It’ll come together … They’re wanting to see good scores and tear it up.”

This week, the girls head to Quail Valley Golf Course, in Banks, on Tuesday, April 15. After that, they golf a bit closer to home in the Canby Invitational at Willamette Valley Country Club on Thursday, April 17. Coach Clarizio said he is particularly hoping for a good showing from the girls in Canby.
