From a hike, to writers workshop, public invited to events with author Sullivan

April 19

• Author presentation at the Warm Springs Library, Friday, 6:30 p.m., on “Oregon’s Greatest Natural Disasters.”

April 20

• Writer’s workshop with Sullivan, 10 a.m. to noon, library annex, limited to 22, register at 541-475-3351, ext. 0, or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

• An informal visit with Sullivan on Saturday, from 2-4 p.m., at Great Earth Natural Foods in Madras. People will have the chance to meet Sullivan and hear about his many adventures as a hiking enthusiast and fifth generation Oregonian, while enjoying refreshments and Oregon beers.

• Author’s presentation “Confessions of an Oregon Author,” the true tales behind the books, 7 p.m., in the library annex, at the corner of Eighth and E streets.

• Art Adventure Gallery exhibit featuring quilts, paintings and photographs based on Sullivan’s books during the month of April.

April 21

• Sullivan will lead a seven-mile hike on the Otter Bench Trail at Crooked River Ranch. The cost is $18 and you must register to go at or by calling 541-815-1000.

April 22

• Sullivan will visit Black Butte Elementary in Camp Sherman and lead the students on a hike along the Metolius River.
