Girl falls from cliff

At Crooked River Ranch
The Crooked River Ranch Rope Team was called into action March 28, to rescue a 12-year-old girl who fell off a cliff at the Ranch.
At 10:55 a.m., rescue personnel responded to 8680 Water Hole Place at the Ranch, where the girl fell.
"She and her friends were playing next to a cliff and she slipped on some rocks and fell," said Sheriff Jim Adkins.
"Her parents were able to get over from a different spot and be with her until the rescue team got there," Adkins said, but noted it was a steep area and the parents had difficulty climbing down.
The girl's name was not readily available, but Adkins said she and her parents, Susan and John Billard of Damascus, Ore., were visiting at the Ranch.
The 14-member Crooked River Ranch Rope Team was able to rappel down and rescue the girl from the base of an approximately 40-foot cliff.
The child was airlifted to St. Charles in Bend, with head injuries, then transferred to Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland, Adkins said.
