Free event, prizes awarded to winners

The winning films of the Central Oregon Film Festival will premier at the awards night from 6-8:30 p.m., April 27, at the Jefferson County Library Rodriguez Annex in Madras. Admission is free.

“This will be a fun night of awards, prizes, trophies and showings of the top three winners in each category. Separate category trophies are also awarded including the audience favorite. Bring your friends. Each person who attends gets to vote once,” said organizer Shannon Winegar.

The categories include short films by those ages 10-14, and ages 15-18, and adult films. There will be awards for the most creative, best script and audience favorite.

After the premier, additional showings of the winning shorts will be held May 14, 6-7:30 p.m., at the Redmond Public Library, Redmond; May 18, 1-2:30 p.m., at Crook County Library, Prineville; June 6, 3-4:30 p.m., at La Pine Public Library; and June 8, 2-3:30 p.m., at the downtown Bend Library.
