Eugene man arrested on rape charges


Involving Madras teen girl

A Eugene man was arrested Oct. 22 in Bend on prostitution and rape charges involving a Madras teen.

Antron Phillips, 31, was arrested at about 8 p.m. at the Dunes Motel on Northeast Third Street in Bend, where police had gone in response to a reported dispute.

Officers investigating the reported incident found Phillips and his girlfriend Sheron Putney, 34, also of Eugene, involved in a verbal argument, and a 17-year-old Madras teenage girl with Phillips.

Further investigation revealed that Phillips, who had allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with the teen, was inducing her to participate in sexual conduct with others for a fee, and providing her with methamphetamine.

Phillips was arrested on charges of promoting and compelling prostitution, delivering methamphetamine to a minor, endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of methamphetamine, first-degree rape and coercion. He was lodged in the Deschutes County Jail.

Putney was arrested on an active Salem warrant, and the juvenile, on an active Jefferson County warrant. Both were also lodged in the Deschutes County Jail.
