Crooked River Ranch Roundup

Crooked River Ranch has had a recent infusion of activity which is reminiscent of years back when it was in its formative stages and bustling with activity of all kinds, including some controversial ones.

For example, by now the word is out that we have disc golf and it evidently is drawing lots of players. Unfortunately it is situated in an area near the ball diamond that Ranch horse owners use for a riding trail and hikers are partial to, also. It is not a compatible mix and efforts are being spent to work out a plan so that all three groups can use that area without interfering with one another.

It also looks like the Ranch Ad Hoc Alternate Exit Committee has been making progress on an additional Ranch exit using Quail Road. It has some obstacles to overcome before it becomes a reality, but it's apparent this committee is doing its due diligence to see that it happens.

The CRR/Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce held its annual retreat recently and is looking for a new executive director with the departure of Hope Johnson, who held that position for almost six years.

Johnson said she needed time to consider new positions, which had come to her attention and evidently the chamber was not adverse to having her do so.

A group of Ranch property owners is pushing for the conversion of some private lots near the commercial zone to being designated as commercial lots to enhance their investment value.

As they have done for years, the Ranch Seniors will hold their annual preThanksgiving lunch at Ranch Chapel on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 11:30 a.m., featuring a traditional Thanksgiving menu. Everyone is welcome, and doors will open at 11 a.m.

All told, it adds up to lots of activity which could result in some significant changes. As we used to say, "The joint is jumping!" Happy Thanksgiving.
