In celebration of Emergency Medical Services Week May 21-27, the Jefferson County EMS District will be demonstrating hands-only CPR at events throughout Madras.
Inspection and installation of infant and child car seats by certified technicians will be available, and licensed emergency medical technicians and paramedics will also measure blood pressure and blood sugar levels by request. All events are free to the public.
Guests are invited to ask questions and inspect the district's ambulances and equipment. District personnel and volunteers will available to answer all questions. All ages are welcome.
Times and locations are as follows:
- May 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Bi-Mart, 1575 SE Highway 97, Madras.
- May 22-26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services, 360 SW Culver Highway, Madras.
- May 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Erickson's Thriftway, 561 SW Fourth St., Madras.
EMS Week is a national event sponsored by the American College of Emergency Physicians and the National Association of EMTs. The 2017 EMS week theme is "EMS Strong: Always in Service."
Jefferson County EMS District is the ambulance service providing emergency medical treatment and transport in Madras, Metolius, Culver, and the surrounding communities of Jefferson and Wasco counties. It operates two ambulances 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is always in service.
