Tribes offer drone pilot training at Kah-Nee-Ta
The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs will be offering national drone pilot training, Jan. 11-15, at the Warm Springs Unmanned Aerial System Test Range.
Lodging for the course will be at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort and Spa. Meals, training, and certification are included.
"A growing number of businesses are using unmanned aerial systems to collect critical data that enhances productivity and cuts costs and they need licensed pilots who can fly drones," said Liz Stalford, Warm Springs UAS test range manager. "The people who attend our training program are getting a head start in this exciting and growing industry."
The training course includes:
. Part 107 training — FAA certification for safe and legal operations.
. Hands-on flight training — fundamentals of piloting a drone.
. UAS operational safety training — Elevated safety and operational performance skills.
. Commercial enterprise course — Make money flying a drone.
