Basic Rights Oregon to host training
Basic Rights Oregon will host a Community Conversation and Training Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Jefferson County Library Rodriguez Annex.
The organization, based in Portland, was formed in 1996, in response to antigay attacks that began in the late 1980s. Basic Rights Oregon works "to ensure that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer Oregonians experience equality by building a broad and inclusive politically powerful movement, shifting public opinion and achieving policy victories."
The conversation and training will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
