Free tuneup at Bicycle Roundup

Family fun ride slated

The seventh Annual Madras Bicycle Roundup is happening on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Madras Aquatic Center.

Free bicycle repairs will be offered by friendly community volunteers, Bike Re-Source Center of Bend and the local Les Schwab Tire Center.

Financial support this year is provided by the same group that traveled through Madras last summer with nearly 240 cyclists, Bicycle Rides Northwest.

A kids’ bike rodeo will wheel from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., for young riders to practice safe riding techniques through an obstacle course.

Helmets will once again be offered at a deeply reduced rate of $5.  Donations will be gladly accepted for other bike parts to help continue the program into the future.

A family bike ride will leave from the Madras Aquatic Center at 2 p.m. and will follow the rider-friendly bike path around Madras for about four miles.

Join the fun at the MAC and get your rusty, old clunkers fixed up for the summer.
