Leona and Marlin ReimerFormer local residents Marlin and Leona Reimer will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married at Halbert Memorial Baptist Church in Salem, on June 23, 1963.  

The family will host a 50th wedding anniversary celebration later in the month of June. 

During their married life, they have lived in Salem, Arlington, Va., Madras, West Linn, and now call Wilsonville their home. Leona worked for the Jefferson County Extension Office in Madras, and the Lake Oswego School District.  From 1967 to 1983, Marlin worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Warm Springs Agency, in the Department of Education.   

Marlin retired after 34 years with the Bureau of Indian Affairs.  In  1994, they both retired and have been busy enjoying retirement to the fullest. The Reimers spend time with their family, playing golf, socializing with friends and travelling throughout the country.  They have enjoyed being part of the Community of Hope Lutheran Church in Wilsonville, which they helped start in 1992. They have participated and supported various charitable activities associated with the Lutheran Church and the community of Wilsonville.

The Reimers have five children, Leona Green (and husband Patrick) of West Linn, Margaret Dickson of LaCanada , Calif.,  Julie Connor-Dunlap (Brian) of Lincoln City, Andrew Connor of Melbourne, Fla.,  and Marc Reimer (Christine) of Camas, Wash. They also have 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
